Watch Nina Dobrev Create A Fresh-Faced Makeup Look In Just 10 Minutes

Nina Dobrev has been gracing our television screens for two decades, and we still get excited when we catch wind of a new project starring the Canadian actor. With the release of her new romantic comedy, Love Hard, Dobrev has been booked and busy, but she took a break amid the hustle to share the simple everyday makeup routine she swears by in her new video for Allure.

As any beauty enthusiast will tell you, the best makeup looks start with a healthy base. Dobrev likes to begin by hydrating her skin with a couple of drops of Dr. Barbara Strum's Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Next, she doubles up with Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum, which is infused with a cocktail of nourishing omega fatty acids and antioxidants. The last serum she applies is Sunday Riley's C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum, which gently exfoliates to reveal, smoother, brighter skin.

After the face is sufficiently dewy and supple, Dobrev moves on to the lips. "I have this amazing Laneige [mask]," she says. "This is a sleeping mask, but honestly I wear it all day, every day. Especially on planes because it's so drying when you're on a flight, and this is so yummy and it smells so good."

To wrap up her skin care, which is honestly so simple and easy you can't help but admire, Dobrev layers on sunscreen. Her favorite? Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40. "It's important to wear sunscreen to protect yourself from potentially getting skin cancer. It's sort of like a primer as well for your makeup so your makeup stays on better." And she's correct, everyone should wear the dermatologist-recommended SPF 30 or higher every day.

Then it's time for the makeup. Dobrev is all about that fresh-faced glow, which is why she likes to grab the Dior Forever Skin Correct Concealer to help with dark under eyes and the Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation SPF 35. The actress applies the foundation to her hand first, then gently dabs it on her face with the help of her trusty Beautyblender. "The reason why it's so great is that it mimics your skin and the pores and really gets it in there so that it looks like a second skin."

You might be surprised to learn that Dobrev actually uses two concealers, the second one being Clé de Peau Beauté's Concealer SPF 25. Because both formulas are lightweight despite their full coverage, the final effect is satin-like, not cakey.

For rosy cheeks, Dobrev is in love with the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Divine Blush, which she dusts on with the Milk Makeup x Sephora Collection Studio Brush (sadly discontinued) after tapping excess powder off. Then she pulls out an interesting technique: sweeping the brush across her jaw and down her neck as well. To complete her base, she does a couple of quick swipes of Pat McGrath Labs' Skin Fetish: Divine Glow Highlighter.

And then it's brow time. "It's so funny how, in the early 2000s, having really skinny eyebrows was very trendy. I remember tweezing, and tweezing, and tweezing until I had nothing left," Dobrev winces. "And then the thick brow came in, and thank goodness 'cause my brows are naturally very thick."

To enhance those naturally full brows, Dobrev first fills in the sparse spots with the Róen vowBROW Pencil , then sets everything in place with Benefit Cosmetics' 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel. And that's it, seriously.

The final touches of her look come together in just a couple of minutes. Charlotte Tilbury's Luxury Palette in Pillow Talk is applied to the eyes, then "kissable lips" are made by layering on Honest Beauty Liquid Lipstick followed by Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre. Eyelashes get a dose of color and volume with Hourglass' Caution Extreme Lash Mascara.

To lock everything into place, Dobrev does a "quick little swipe" of Urban Decay's All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. "You wait a few seconds for it to dry and your makeup doesn't move for 24 hours – for better or for worse," she cheekily adds.
