Mom of 3 Jessica Simpson Talks C-Section, Says Recovery Is 'No Joke'
Jessica Simpson may once have thought that Chicken of the Sea was, well, a swimming chicken, but girlfriend is spot-on when it comes to c-section recovery: it’s no piece of cake. Simpson and husband Eric Johnson welcomed third child, second daughter, Birdie Mae, on March 19 via cesarean. The past two weeks of recovery time have not been simple, said the fashion designer on social media. She Instagrammed a shot of her daughter, Maxwell, 6, and son, Ace, 5, on April, and captioned the post, “Recovering from a C-section is no joke! I’m feeling thankful for these two older siblings looking over their new baby sister.”
She continued, “I think we all get so carried away with the excitement of having a new baby that we forget that we are going in for major surgery. Then on top of that, we get home from the hospital, have to recover from the surgery, balance our new life as a parent to three kids and be a wife… .”
Simpson also used the opportunity to give a shoutout to Peanut, a social media app for moms.
“We are so happy and proud to announce the birth of our perfect daughter, Birdie Me Johnson. 3.19.19. 10 Pounds 13 Ounces,” Simpson captioned the black-and-white shot of older sis Maxwell holding the newborn’s tiny hand.
Congrats to the whole family — and may Simpson (and that toilet seat) heal up fast. It’s true, Simpson is the queen of saying unintentionally hilarious things, but c-sections are definitely no joke.
